This will enable you to hide your internet activity so no one else using your computer or device will know you have contacted Police. Alternatively you could use a public computer at a library or ask to use someone else’s device.</p> <p>You can find more information about hiding your online activity here:</p> <ul> <li> <p><a href="https://www.2shine.org.nz/hide-my-visit" target="_blank">Shine</a></p> </li> <li> <p><a href="http://www.areyouok.org.nz/cover-my-tracks/" target="_blank">Are You OK</a></p> </li> <li> <p><a href="https://smartstart.services.govt.nz/online-safety/" target="_blank">Smart Start</a></p> </li> </ul> <p>If you’re concerned for your own or someone else’s safety, please don’t hesitate to contact Police. We encourage you to use whatever means you prefer to reach out to us (which may be online via 105). If you can't decide if it's an emergency and you're still worried, call 111 and ask us. We'll help you work out what to do.</p> <p>Remember you can always report a crime or get advice by visiting your local Police station and speaking to the person at the front counter. You may be able to speak to an officer straight away, and are welcome to bring a support person with you.</p> </section> <div class="field field-name-field-faq-audience field-type-taxonomy-term-reference field-label-above"><div class="field-label">Audience:&nbsp;</div><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><a href="/faq/information-for/general-public" typeof="skos:Concept" property="rdfs:label skos:prefLabel" datatype="">General public</a></div></div></div><div class="field-collection-container clearfix"><div class="field field-name-field-related-info field-type-field-collection field-label-above"><div class="field-label">Related Information:&nbsp;</div><div class="field-items"></div></div></div> Fri, 04 Sep 2020 03:19:55 +0000 akpy35 62048 at Can I make an anonymous online report using 105.police.govt.nz? /faq/can-i-make-anonymous-online-report-using-105policegovtnz <section class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"> <p>You can’t file an anonymous report via 105 as we need some personal information in order to follow up on your case.
