Police acknowledge the findings of an IPCA report, which concluded that Police were justified in using force during an arrest of a man in Inglewood.

On 21 May 2020 Police arrested a man who at the time was a high-priority violent offender.?

During the arrest process the man attempted to escape custody on several occasions and officers used a range of tactics, including Tasers, to control the man and transport him to the Police station.?
?
The IPCA found Police were justified in using force to prevent the man from escaping custody, as he was deemed a risk to both Police and members of the public and had a history of violent offending and gang involvement.
?
We accept and acknowledge these findings.
